How do I set up my ice bath?

1. Open the product packaging and unpack the components

2. Insert the support rods into the holes around the ice bath

3. Make sure the tub is placed down on a flat surface

4. Inflate the tip ring with the provided pump.

5. Make sure the drain valve is tightened before filling

6. Fill with water from a hose/tap

7. Add ice to cool water to target temperature

How long should I stay in my ice bath?

Research has shown that to enhance recovery you should aim to accumulate 11 min per week in the Ice Bath.

You can either do this all at once (i.e. 11 min straight) or if you’re not used to Cold Water Immersion, you can break it up into shorter durations (e.g. 2 x 5 min with 2 min out of bath inbetween).

We recommend breaking it up into 2-3 minute sessions to start.

It's critically important that you listen to your body and only stay in the tub as long as you feel is right for you. Don't overdo it.

What temperature should my ice bath be?

Tap water is ~18 degrees in summer (Winter = ~13 degrees). Ideal temperature is 10-15 degrees

How many VITALICE freezer ice packs should I add to my ice bath?
+

Each set (4 pack) is equivalent to 5kg or 1 bag of servo ice. Depending on water temperature we recommend using 2-3 sets

How long will my ice bath stay cold for?

Where should I set up my VITALICE ice bath?
+

Anywhere with an accessible water supply (tap) nearby, and that has a drain to let out the water.

Some suggestions: Front yard, balcony, at a park, on the beach, in your shower.

Are there any safety considerations to take into account?

Don't use an ice bath if you're pregnant, have heart issues or high blood pressure, are diabetic, have neuropathy or retinal damage, wear a pacemaker, have a history of frostbite, have an open wound, recently had surgery, or have epilepsy or any other health concerns or risks.

How often do I have to replace the water in my VITALICE ice bath?

Generally we recommend cleaning every 2 weeks or 3 if you are using the tub a few times each week. Our team personally uses their tubs every morning and replace the water every 2 weeks. Additionally, many of our customers are also using pool cleaning products to avoid replacing the water every 2 weeks.

How do I take care of my freezer ice trays?

With proper care, you can expect these ice trays to last at least 2 years. Here are some tips to ensure longevity:

How does the SaunaPod work?

The SaunaPod works by heating water to create steam, which increases the moisture and temperature of the air.

How hot does the SaunaPod get?
+

The SaunaPod heats usually operates at a temperature of 45-50 degrees celsius. The high humidity can make the temperature feel much closer to 80 degrees

What are the benefits of using the SaunaPod?

The SaunaPod offers several health benefits, such as improving circulation, aiding in muscle relaxation, reducing stress, helping to clear the sinuses, improving skin health, and promoting better sleep.

It varies depending on the individual, but generally, 15-20 minutes is a good starting point. It's important to listen to your body and step out if you start to feel uncomfortable.

How do I clean it?

The inside of the heat insulated cover is designed to help prevent mould and bacteria build up. A quick dry & machine washable absorbent sweat mat for the bottom of the sauna is included in every order. After use, we recommended leaving the door flap open to air and wiping down the water vapor on the inside walls

Are the SaunaPod materials toxic when heated?

The SaunaPod is made of premium-grade polyester with no toxic materials. The SaunaPod's inner and outer material is polyester taffeta, which is a plain weave of polyester fibers. Between the inner and outer is a layer of cotton which is laser pressed together. The fabric was chosen to ensure it is safe.

Can I use it indoors & outdoors?

The SaunaPod can be used both indoors and outdoors. Although weather-proof, we recommend packing up the SaunaPod and bringing it inside in extreme conditions.

How long should I spend in the SaunaPod?

It varies depending on the individual, but if you are using the SaunaPod on a more moderate heat level up to 30 minutes is recommended. At higher, more  intense heat, we recommended no longer than 15-20 minutes.  It's important to listen to your body and step out if you start to feel uncomfortable.

What's the difference between steam sauna and dry sauna?

A steam sauna is high in humidity and has lower temperatures, while a dry sauna is low in humidity and higher temperature.

The steam sauna has many added benefits including

Skin Hydration: Steam saunas are excellent for hydrating the skin. The moisture can open up the pores, helping to cleanse the skin and potentially reducing acne.

> Joint and Muscle Relaxation: The warm, moist heat can be beneficial for relieving tension in the muscles and joints
Deep Sweat:  The high humidity environment causes a deeper sweat which may help cleanse the skin, potentially improving its appearance

Can I use the SaunaPod if I have a medical condition?

If you have a medical condition such as heart disease, low or high blood pressure, or are pregnant, it's recommended to consult with a healthcare provider before using the SaunaPod.

How should I feel after using a steam sauna?

After using a steam sauna, most people report feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. If you are taking your sauna at the end of the  night, you may also feel tired. Ensure you hydrate well!

How many people can comfortably fit inside the SaunaPod?

The SaunaPod is designed for one person when seated.

How should I clean the steam chamber?

After the steamer has cooled down, simply wipe it dry to maintain cleanliness.

What is the weight limit for the portable chair in the SaunaPod?

The portable chair in the SaunaPod has a weight limit of approximately 225 pounds or 102 kilograms.

  3. Enter and Exit Carefully: Get in and out of the ice bath slowly to prevent slips and falls. The body can be numb after an ice bath, increasing the risk of injury.
  4. Stay Hydrated: Drink water before and after the ice bath to stay hydrated.
  5. Avoid Alcohol and Drugs: Do not use the ice bath if under the influence of alcohol or drugs, as they can impair your body’s response to cold.
  6. Monitor Your Body: Pay attention to how your body feels during the bath. If you feel excessive pain, numbness, or distress, exit the bath immediately.
  7. Use in Well-Ventilated Area: Ensure good ventilation in the area where you use the portable ice bath to avoid condensation and moisture-related issues.
