Can the Ice Bath be used outdoors?
Yes!
We engineered our Ice Baths to be weather and UV resistant, so you can set it up inside or outside, even in temperatures below freezing.
If you use the Chiller outdoors, be cautious in freezing conditions, and follow the recommendations in the manual that comes with your chiller
Is the Ice Bath & Chiller Waterproof?
Yes—our ice baths and chillers are engineered to be water and weather-proof. However, standard precautions should be taken for any exposed electrical components when using the equipment outdoors, and we recommend covering your chiller in extreme weather conditions.
How much does it cost to run?
The cost to run the chillers are about $0.50c a day, assuming the cooling time per day for the UltraX2 is 8-12 hours and the UltraMax 3-4 hours.
Both the Ultra X2 and UltraMax models come with mobile app control, so you can activate the chiller only when you need it—dramatically reducing electricity usage.
Additionally, once the chiller reaches the set temperature, it will move to standby mode and only turn back on when its moved 2°C outside the set range.
Finally, the insulation of the Vital+ Ice Baths are extra thick which keeps the water cold, meaning less need for the chiller to be functioning.
Does it include a lid?
Yes all our Ice baths include a lid. Please note that only our Barrel and Pro models come with a lockable lid
How often do I change the filters?
The internally built filters will need to simply be washed weekly and will never need replacement.
The 20micron filter that comes with the UltraMax (and can be purchased for the Ultra X2) will need to be replaced every 5-7 weeks.
Which Chiller is right for me?
The Ultra X2 is a great entry level product that will suit most residential homes.
For those requiring more power, faster cooling, and a more advanced filtration, the UltraMax could be a more preferred option.

The Chiller Max and tub has been great so far. I have mainly used the cooling functionality but the heating also seems to work.
Cools down fast and seems to keep water clean. Haven't had to replace water and its been 5 weeks.

I hate to be cold, but I absolutely LOVE our cold plunge tub! I have Raynaud’s Phenomenon, and the cold plunge honestly doesn’t turn my fingers white. I actually think the cold tub is helping me tolerate cold better.
It does take a few times to get used to it, and you gradually increase your time. It helps to do long exhales out of your mouth when you are entering the water. It didn’t take long for me to get hooked!
I am amazed at the difference I feel already after three weeks of daily use. My aches and pains are much better, including my arthritis and bulging disc in my back, I feel more alive, alert and centered and I’ve noticed an improvement in that word recall problem that one can experience in their mid to late 50’s.
While the ads on the website show the chiller and tub out in the open and next to a pool, the company recommends in the instructions to keep it dry, away from water and covered. Customer Service confirmed this. To resolve this, my husband bought a small plastic outdoor storage box, drilled holes in each side and added a vent in the back, and it works great to keep it dry and away from water.
I can’t stop telling people how incredible having a cold plunge tub is. If you’re thinking about it, just do it. You won’t regret it!
